During eight engaging sessions, John Street School third graders in the after-school STEAM Club explored science through hands-on experiments as part of the Science Surprise enrichment program provided by Mad Science of Long Island.
Each week, the students explored a new scientific topic, including insects, forensic science, geology, chemical reactions and physics, through activities led by Mad Scientist Jasmine Jahangir. To extend learning beyond the club, students also received a follow-up activity each week to complete at home with their families.
