John Street School’s kindergarten classes learned about the Lunar New Year on Jan. 20. The students listened to read-aloud books from author/illustrator Grace Lin, whose books are inspired by her childhood and growing up with Chinese traditions. They also watched videos of the Lunar New Year Festival, a Dragon Dance Parade and a Lions Dance. They enjoyed creating their own dragon masks and ended the day by completing an alphabet Chinese New Year letter search.
