JSS Celebrates Music in Our Schools Month

To celebrate Music in Our Schools Month, John Street School’s music department hosted a music-themed Spirit Week from March 23-27.

The week began with Music Genre Monday, where students dressed as rockstars, pop stars, country singers or their favorite artists. On Music T-Shirt Tuesday, students showcased their favorite music-themed apparel, including concert, musical and band merchandise. Wednesday brought Mr. Worldwide Wednesday, inspired by Pitbull, with students dressing in styles representing music from cultures around the world. On Thursday, students embraced Welcome to the 60s by wearing tie-dye or outfits inspired by the decade. The celebration wrapped up with JSS Music Shirt Friday, as students wore school music gear or spirit wear.

In addition to the themed dress-up days, the week featured karaoke and dance activities organized by music teacher Alexa Gottesman, all designed to complement each day’s theme and keep the celebration going.
