Students and teachers holding artwork.

John Street School sixth graders Rayhan Poyyathuruthy, Justin Sabesan and Andrew Spinelli collaborated on a Zentangle design, creating intricate black-and-white patterns with a marker and yarn. After studying line designs in black-and-white with art teacher Christine Randazzo, the students were inspired to create this piece of art. Meeting each day during their recess for approximately two months, the three dedicated students worked on their collaborative piece. Mrs. Randazzo framed the artwork to be hung in the first-level hallway.

“The students were so excited by this project,” Mrs. Randazzo said. “They completed it in their own time, and it came out amazing!”
