The district is pleased to announce that the board of education has appointed Mr. Charles Carollo as the district’s next Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Management. The appointment was made at the board’s regular public meeting held on Jan. 14.
Mr. Carollo was selected following a comprehensive search process conducted in partnership with District Wise. He joins Franklin Square from the Hewlett-Woodmere Public School District, where he has served as Assistant Superintendent for Business. Mr. Carollo began his career in public education at Nassau BOCES in 2008 and remained there through 2024, serving in executive management and supervisory roles within business and support services. He also brings prior experience from the financial sector.
Throughout his career, Mr. Carollo has demonstrated a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility, strategic planning, and operational excellence in support of student learning and districtwide priorities. His background and leadership will be an asset as Franklin Square continues to advance important initiatives that include the recently approved bond and the district’s energy performance contract, as well as the full scope of financial and operational responsibilities that support our schools. Mr. Carollo will officially begin his role with the district on March 1.
To welcome Mr. Carollo to the Franklin Square community, Dr. Bloom will host a Coffee with the Superintendent on Thursday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. at Washington Street School. Families, community members and staff are invited to attend this informal meet and greet. Please RSVP by contacting Lisa Schneider at lschneider@franklinsquare.k12.ny.us or by phone at 516-481-4100 x 3615.
We look forward to welcoming Mr. Carollo to the Franklin Square community and to the leadership, experience, and collaboration he will bring to our schools.
