During Math and Science Experience Week, held from Jan. 29-Feb. 2, John Street School students participated in hands-on activities and experiments.
Kindergarten students learned about dinosaurs from a representative from the Long Island Science Center. They viewed both replicas and actual fossils of dinosaur eggs, teeth and a skull. The students also saw how large a dinosaur footprint would be, stepping on the print together as a class to represent the size. Using a dinosaur tooth, each student created their own tooth replica to take home.
Throughout the week, each grade-level participated in a different math/science activity.
